Well folks, Hello. My name is Martin and I am married to Val. I am new to this blog spot and guess it's American. I love you yanks, I'm an ex fighter pilot with the Brit Air Force and have flown stacks of 'missions' with the USAF. Anyway, the point. Val and I have BOTH been diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Within 2 weeks of one another! This occured last March (2009) and today Val was released from isolation after I 131 RAI treatment. She's pooped because of mega hypothyroidism off the thyroxine. I had my dose of RAI 3 weeks ago and feel great. We both had full thyroid removals in April 2009. I am a bit stuffed for working at the moment as I am an airline pilot and am not allowed to fly until my blood reaches a useable 'euthyroid' state - in the next month hopefully. If any folk out there are interested, I, we, can answer any questions about the whole process. My view on all of this is it's 90% mental, 10% physical. Cancer is Cancer, you've gotta fight it.
