I’ve really been doing my research before I get my thyroid surgery. I came across the below info in my research. This is some scientific data from two sources I found. In summary, thyroid dysfunction can influence menstrual function. The endocrine system is very complex and influences so many different human body systems and hormones. I would also recommend letting your doctor know what’s going on. I’m sure your endocrinologist will have some insight on this.
“We must also consider the association of ovarian hormones with the thyroid and adrenal glands. Alterations of thyroid function invariably cause menstrual irregularities of all kinds.” (1)

“The various feedback signaling systems provide the hormonal homeostasis characteristic of virtually all endocrine systems. The monthly menstrual cycle exemplifies a system with much longer periodicity that requires a complex synergism between central and peripheral axes of the endocrine glands. Disruption of hormonal homeostasis due to glandular or central regulatory system dysfunction has both clinical and laboratory consequences. Recognition and correction of these are the essence of clinical endocrinology.” (2)
