Hi, my initial biopsy showed crowded Hurthle cells, which are considered an offshoot of follicular cancer. I had a partial thyroid removal this past monday. My surgeon is 137 miles away in Seattle. When I called to get my final biopsy results, I was told the pathology report was too long long and complicated and I had to make another long trip into Seattle. This only worried me more and my emotions are all over the place. Is this common practice? I'd think if it was benign, and given the undesired trip to seattle, another day off work etc... I thought they'd tell me this over the phone (if it was benign). My appt. is this Tuesday, July 14th. This waiting is a major stressor.
Also, I have been very drained and worn out. Is this just post op physical conditions or can 1/2 the thyroid cause this? I feel physically worse than the day after surgery.
Anyone relate? Have similar issues?
