What is your target TSH level?

My endocrinologist has set my target (goal) TSH level between 0.1 - 0.4 uIU/ml. I know my doctor wants me slightly hyper to suppress any remnant thyroid cells. My lab work shows the normal range of TSH levels is 0.34 - 5.6 uIU/ml. I’m curious what other people’s TSH target or goal is.

Went to see my Endo Doctor today for the results of my can and find out about my hormone levels. The Dr told me he wants mine alittle less then normal (whatever that is). He couldnt tell me yet till I have blood work. He also couldnt tell me if I was now cancer free. He did say my body overall didnt have any cancer> But there was still activity where my thyroid had been removed and some by the lymnods (sorry about the spelling) I would have to wait till I have another scan in a year. Needless to say I was very dissapointed in this . Its no biggy to have another scan in a year, but now I still have this cancer hanging over my head for another year. Has anyone else had this happen to them also. My daughter said well, mom dont worry about it till next year but I feel like I still have this weight on my shoulders. Right now I'm just bummed.

Sorry about the wait ahead of you, Maria4str8. I can't speak to that, as I've just started my journey, but as I understand it, it's a big part of having had thyroid cancer: You will always have to hope it doesn't come back, since they often can't tell for sure if they've killed it off with one dose of RAI. It is a bummer.

I will meet with my endocrinologist on Monday to find out my target level. But I just got my first post-surgery test results back: 1.22 - a result I am happy with, as it falls somewhere in the middle of my past few pre-surgery test results. Thank you for starting this thread, kmarshall, since now I have an idea of what my doctor might suggest as a target. I've had levels as high as 1.9 and as low as .2 without feeling off or anything, so I think (hope) it'll all be good.

And for comparison's sake, my lab' standards for a normal TSH level are 0.10-5.50 uIU/mL.

Met with my doctor, and he says we can keep me where I am right now, at least until I run out of my current supply of pills. (Which come 100 per bottle.) He says a good target is .05 - .01 --- I'm taking 100mg now, and he thinks we might go with a system as simple as me taking an additional one-half a pill per week (so say on a Sunday I'll take a pill and a half, and all the other days I'll just take my regular pill.) He thinks that might nudge me into the perfect zone. If it gives me hyper symptoms we'll reevaluate.

My lab’s reference values are 0.40 - 4.00 uUlm/ml.
About 3 weeks ago, I made blood tests and the result was 0.02 of TSH (my endo told me that my TSH should be less than 0.10). I take 150 mcg of Eutirox.
